Incentive Programs

There are no sales and use taxes on machinery and equipment, reduced sales tax on natural gas, and no interstate sales tax on phone line communication.

Yes. As part of the Jamestown Residential Lot Development Program, JSDC will provide up to 20% of the required 25% cost share for the city to bond for infrastructure for the development of residential lots within the Jamestown City limits.

Site Selectors

Yes. There are a variety of industrial parks in Jamestown/Stutsman county, including:

Spiritwood Energy Park
The Spiritwood Energy Park is an industrial park with over 500 acres located approximately 10 miles east of Jamestown. Great River Energy is just to the east of this park. This park has convenient access to heavy power and steam provided by Great River Energy to the east, rail, interstate, highway, water, and waste water.

Airport Business Park
The Airport Business Park has lots ranging in size from 1 to 30 acres. These lots have access to 34th St SE and Highway 20 in Jamestown and are minutes from downtown with easy accessibility to Interstate 94.

Workforce Development

Workforce 20/20 is a program to assist North Dakota businesses and industries in retraining and upgrading worker's skills to meet demands of new technologies and work methods.

It provides funding assistance to businesses to offset training costs for current workers and new employees when the business is new to the state, expanding employment in the state, introducing new technologies or new production methods

Yes. As a member of the statewide workforce training system, TrainND, the Workforce Training Division links you to state and region-wide networks of professionals and resources for the focused training needed to become more competitive.

Small Business Support

JSDC can help you access various sources of capital, tax credits, and incentive programs to further your business, including:

Red River Corridor Fund (RRCF)
The purpose of the RRCF is to create jobs by helping small businesses across North Dakota access capital and is funded by the U.S. Department of Treasury.

Community Development Revolving Loan Fund
The South Central Dakota Regional Council currently has up to $500,000 available in this low-cost financing option. Like other funding sources, the number of jobs created would have a bearing on the amount of accessible funds.

Dakota Business Lending
The mission of Dakota Business Lending is all about cultivating the success of businesses in North Dakota and western Minnesota by providing exceptional financing solutions in a supportive and creative environment delivered by dedicated, experienced lending staff who strive to grow the economy.

Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC)
The Work Opportunity Tax Credit is a federally funded program designed to encourage employers in the private sector to hire qualified job seekers (from nine target groups) who face barriers to gainful employment.

Housing Development

Yes. The Land Use & Transportation Plan (LUTP) includes a future land use plan which defines growth areas for the City of Jamestown and its two-mile Extraterritorial Area.

Yes. The Jamestown/Stutsman County Development Corporation can provide up to 50% of eligible infrastructure costs for new residential lot development projects located within the Jamestown city limits.

This locally driven program is funded through the City of Jamestown’s Economic Development Fund and is designed to support the development of new residential lots to address local housing needs. Program requirements, including a minimum five-lot development and a developer agreement, remain in place.
