The JSDC recently conducted a Workforce Development Survey to help identify gaps the local business community faces. The results and draft proposals, along with keynote address by Keith Lund from the Grand Forks EDC, will be presented at the JSDC’s Annual Meeting on Wednesday, April 25.
Some of the data we received reflects the positive influence of small, well established businesses in the County. The survey also reflected the strong community employment needs with over thirty percent of the businesses in need of a variety of qualified employees.
Please note that we also conducted interviews with some of the larger employers who appear to be facing a greater challenge in finding employees than the majority of the survey respondents which are predominantly small businesses.
JSDC will be reviewing the responses and working collaboratively with the business community to determine options to meet these employment needs and grow the workforce and region. Please let the JSDC know if you have any questions or comments.
