USDA Rural Development reps quiz, seek leaders’ views — January 31, 2012
Four representatives from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development visited Jamestown Monday to gather information from local leaders about their view of North Dakota’s future.
 
2020 & Beyond 20-Year Development Plan Initiative launched — January 31, 2012
Gov. Jack Dalrymple, along with the North Dakota Chamber of Commerce, today launched 2020 & Beyond, a 20-year development plan that will build on the success of the state’s current strategic plan and advance North Dakota’s opportunities well into the future. The new initiative was outlined at news conferences in Minot and Fargo. Dalrymple was joined by Andy Peterson, president and CEO of the North Dakota Chamber of Commerce and the co-chairs of the 2020 & Beyond steering committee, Kathy Neset with Neset Consulting and Bill Marcil, Jr. with Forum Communications.

Airport terminal opening — December 19, 2011
Gov. Jack Dalrymple flew into the Jamestown Regional Airport Friday for a ceremony celebrating the opening of the JRA’s new terminal. “What a beautiful facility. The colors are great, that ceiling is, you know, something to comment on,” Dalrymple said. “The amount of air travel that people do is really going to be affected by this.”

ND leading the way for growth among nation — December 19, 2011
There’s no surprise at the top: North Dakota is the clear leader. If North Dakota grew at the rate of the national economy, we would have expected about 470,000 total jobs in the state for 2011. Instead, there are an estimated 520,000 jobs in the state. The difference between the two is the competitive effect. In other words, North Dakota is ahead of what we would expect by 47,000 jobs, or nearly 10% greater than it should be.
