JSDC Goals
In order to ensure the goals of the organization are met, the JSDC Board of Directors annually reviews its long term goals and objectives. During this time, the board also establishes annual goals and objectives to ensure the focus of the organization is maintained while being proactive to community economic development issues and concerns.

Long Term Goals

  • Create a more favorable environment for development at the Jamestown Food Processing Industrial Park and high-value crops production. The overall goal for the Food Park is to attract $50 million in new capital investment by the year 2010
  • Actively assist local manufacturers growth and expansion and raise local appreciation of their accomplishments
  • Implement a Jamestown/Stutsman area workforce development and labor recruitment program to respond to the needs of local employers
  • Understand our competitive position in the telecommunications infrastructure needed to compete for business investment in the information economy
  • Improve the marketing and promotional capabilities of the JSDC
  • Enhance and support the new partnerships formed with:

    • NDSCS Outreach/Workforce Training-Training & Projects Coordinator
    • Small Business Development Center; and work towards developing and maintaining additional partnerships to further community projects
    • Actively work towards attracting and supporting youth involvement in the community
    • Jamestown College-Resource Development Specialist
    • Encourage former Jamestown/Stutsman County citizens to return
    • Develop an Ambassadors Program modeled after that of the ND Ambassadors Program
  • Progress towards these goals and objectives will be evaluated on quarterly basis throughout the course of the year. Timelines will be set up and changes will be made if modifications become necessary. Annual work plans in support of the above overall goals will be prepared and tracked each year.

    As industry specific targets, the following goals and objectives have been set.

    • Enhance and support the development of agriculture and renewable energy

    • Actively support and assist local entrepreneurs though the innovate ND program

    • Create a more favorable environment for development at the Jamestown food processing industrial park and high-value crops production

    • Actively pursue partners to expand and locate into I-94 business park

    • Maintain the marketing and promotional capabilities of the JSDC

    • Implement a Jamestown/Stutsman area workforce development and labor recruitment program to respond to the needs of local employers
