Jamestown, ND is governed by an elected Modern Council government. Looking out for the progressive advancment of Jamestown and protection of its citizens, the City Government works hard to keep Jamestown clean, crime free, and progressive. CITY POLICE
Jamestown is patrolled by a city-wide police department with 32 officers. Beyond the city limits, the Stutsman County Sheriff's Department handels all patrolling. The City Police can be reached at 701-252-1000, or 911 for emergencies.

CITY FIRE PROTECTION
Jamestown is protected by a full-time and volunteer fire department that provides not only fire safety, but rescue service and rescue diving. The department has six full-time firemem and 31 volunteers. Beyond the city limits, a volunteer rural fure department (with cooperative city fire insurance classification) protects. The fire department can be reached at 701-252-1441, or 911 for emergencies.
